SHENANDOAH — Franklin’s Seth Spiller, Bryson Washington and Malcolm Murphy each rushed for a touchdown to power the Lions to a 23-14 Class 3A Division I bi-district victory over the Orangefield Bobcats on Thursday night at Woodforest Bank Stadium.

Murphy, who had 76 yards on 10 carries, had a 24-yard touchdown run with 5 minutes, 3 seconds left to give the Lions (7-3) a 20-6 lead. Julio Bribescas added a 32-yard field goal with 5:03 left. Washington opened the scoring with a 28-yard run with 11:15 left in the first quarter. Orangefield (9-2) tied it at 6 on a 4-yard run by Heston Puckett.

Spiller, who had 91 yards rushing on 13 carries, gave Franklin a 13-6 halftime lead with an 18-yard run.

Franklin will play the Lago Vista-Whitney winner.

Running dominated play as the Lions outrushed the Bobcats 300-152. There was only one turnover and three punts.

In other playoff action Thursday night, Price Carlisle (8-3) edged Leon (3-8) 37-36 in 2A Division I; and in 2A Division II, Bremond (10-1) blasted Louise (1-10) 50-23 and Chilton (7-4) beat Burton (6-5) 28-21.
