NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. — Texas A&M men’s tennis players Hady Habib and Valentin Vacherot advanced to the third round of the singles draw at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships on Thursday at The Tennis Club.

No. 16 Habib defeated USC’s Stefan Dostanic 6-2, 6-7(6), 6-1 to set up a match against No. 28 Joseph Guillin of UC-Santa Barbara on Friday. Vacherot beat 17th-ranked Adam Walton of Tennessee 6-0, 6-3 and will take on Baylor’s Sven Lah, a rematch of the ITA Texas Regional final won by Lah.

No. 13 Carlos Aguilar bounced back from a first-round loss to beat 25th-ranked Tim Sandkaulen of Ole Miss in the first round of the consolation bracket. Aguilar will play No. 23 Alex Brown of Illinois in the consolation second round.
