GIDDINGS — Caldwell took a 7-6 lead into halftime, but Giddings rallied in the second half for a 21-7 victory to open District 12-4A Division II play Friday.

Logan Knesek ran for 46 yards on three carries, and Nicolas Johnson had 23 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries for Caldwell (2-4, 0-1). Kyle Cunningham also threw for 123 yards on 11-of-27 passing.

Mark Revilla had eight tackles, including one for loss, and Brandon Williams and seven tackles (two for loss) to lead the Hornet defense.

Caldwell will host La Grange next week.
