Texas A&M vs. Wright State women's basketball

Texas A&M’s Chennedy Carter (3) draws a foul from Wright State’s Michal Miller, right, as she attempts a shot during the second quarter in March 2019 in the first round of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament at Reed Arena.

Texas A&M junior guard Chennedy Carter was added to the watch lists for the Wade and Women’s Naismith trophies.

The Wade Trophy, awarded to the season’s best women’s college basketball player by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, named 30 players to its list Friday. Tennessee junior guard Rennia Davis, Arkansas junior guard Chelsea Dungee, South Carolina senior guard Tyasha Harris and Kentucky sophomore guard Rhyne Howard also made the list.

Carter, a preseason All-American by the Associated Press, was named to the watch lists for the Wooden and Nancy Lieberman Awards earlier this week.

The Naismith, awarded to the season’s best player by the Atlanta Tipoff Club, named 50 players Friday. Mississippi State senior guard Jordan Danberry, Davis, Dungee, Harris, Howard and Missouri senior guard Amber Smith also made the list.
